Post-Weld Heat Treatment

Concordia Technologies utilizes gas-fired furnace heating as the preferred method for weld stress relief. In this process, the entire weldment is placed in a furnace and heated to a specified temperature to reduce or eliminate residual stresses introduced during welding. This treatment helps prevent cracking, distortion, and other structural issues caused by these stresses.

All heat treatment processes are performed in accordance with ASME Code requirements, and a digital chart recorder provides continuous readouts of the Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) cycle for full traceability. We also offer dry-out and partial dry-out services for refractory castables.
